Biography: Shannon joined AKT in 2004 and has worked within the public sector for the past five years. As Assurance Manager, Shannon’s expertise includes audits of non-profits, including voluntary health and welfare organizations, foundations, vacation owners’ associations, community organizations, university auxiliaries, religious organizations, and governmental agencies. Shannon also performs agreed-upon procedures engagements, reviews and compilations for a variety of industries. During all attest engagements, Shannon employs her knowledge of internal controls and best-practices to recommend process improvements that safeguard assets and improve overall efficiencies within the organizations she serves.Shannon graduated from University of California, San Diego, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature. After spending nine years in accounting and management in private industry, she went on to earn a professional accounting certification from UCSD and her CPA license. She is a member of the AICPA and California Society of CPAs.
